What we do
Rural Organizing Initiative (ROI) is an independent organizing leadership group.
ROI is dedicated to preserving democracy by helping people who live in primarily rural areas become empowered to participate in the electoral process by encouraging voter registration and assisting first time candidates to run for local, nonpartisan offices.
Why we do it
With the normal turnover in election organizing, many rural areas have traditionally struggled to maintain systems that consistently carry over from election cycle to election cycle. We will work with local organizers to create systems that easily carry over to future organization.
How we do it
We provide training for ground level outreach as well as guidelines for new candidates to help ensure maximum voter participation.
By educating new candidates on best practices for how to engage with and maintain relationships with both volunteers and voters, ROI is making it possible to energize the electorate in areas that have been traditionally hard to reach. ROI will help organizers learn ways to maintain institutional knowledge and keep consistent contact with voters.

How you can help
ROI is independently funded through the generous donations of private individuals who want to see money spent in Arizona used in the most efficient way possible. Money donated to ROI will be used to support work that is happening now with several organizing institutions. ROI is not another competing group working alone. We work closely with already existing organizations and party affiliates to help make their efforts more effective. Your generous contribution will help all of these organizations use their resources wisely. You can help in the following ways:

Get Involved
Whether you live in Arizona, or are just concerned about defending democracy everywhere, there are numerous ways to get involved and help promote a safe and fair election. If you plan to visit the state you can contact us and we can let you know about events happening in the area you plan to visit. From the comfort of your living room or patio, you can sign up to help make phone calls, send texts, or write letters for various organizations.
